1910 Minneapolis Millers

The problem with collections is that they get tucked away in a drawer where no one can see. An alternative is a preservation framing that can be enjoyed without fear of handling damage. Our award winning display of eight original 1910 Minneapolis Millers baseball cards is totally unique. The cards are more than 100 years old, so before framing each was Mylar encapsulated to ensure acid neutrality. The genuine walnut frame was made to the exact dimensions of an actual home plate. The front side display was created by embossing the image of a baseball infield into acid free mats and covering both it, and the matching liner, with flannel fabric matching the uniforms of the players on the cards – including the embroidered “M” on the their sweaters.

Because the cards were also printed on the back, the frame was constructed to be viewable from both sides. The back side display mats and custom fabricated liner were also wrapped with matching flannel cloth to maintain the theme. Museum glass on both sides allows viewing with virtually no glare. In order to look at the back without interference from the wire hanger, a removable hanging system was fabricated using side keyhole slots. One final detail – the small felt wall pad at the bottom of the frame is shaped like a miniature home plate. What collector wouldn’t enjoy sharing a treasured item with such a unique display? Want to learn more about the 1910 Millers and the fascinating players shown on the cards? Visit us at the store and we’ll be happy to share the story.
